Beyond Fitness
Food is not an afterthought. It's half the session.
As a bioinformatician and physician, Lea Feder explains why nutrition is not an add-on to training – the right nutrition helps decide whether a session really works or was simply exhausting. What you eat before exercise, how you supply yourself with water, electrolytes and carbohydrates during a long ride, and what ends up on your plate in the off-season has more influence on your progress than most people think.
And then there are the myths that persist stubbornly. Do you really have to starve to lose weight permanently? Sports scientist Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse of the German Sport University Cologne clears up some of these misconceptions in the videos further down – scientifically sound and without wagging a finger. And why of all things oats have been unjustly maligned is explained by nutritional physician Dr. Julia Fischer in a piece for the ARD.
